Show id Funeral Services For Mrs. Niels Nelson Largely Attended rk Largely attended were the funeral services held in the Alpine Stake Tabernacle Monday afternoon, Janu- 53 ary 27, at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Eliza- )C. beth Bromley Nelson, 62, wife of Niels Nelson, who raised away January Janu-ary 23, in a Sait Lake hospital fol- ,-k lowing an operation for goitre. Bish.- op Joseph II. Storrs of the Second 11 ward officiated. The casket and rostrum were covered with many flowers, both profuse pro-fuse and beautiful, showing the love and respect felt for the family by sympathetic friends and relatives. '" The opening iiusical number was "Thou DoesL Not Weep To Weep X' Alone" by a double quartet under the direction of Mrs. Mae Halliday. Patriarch Warren B. Smith offered the invocation, after which Mrs. Myrtle Houston beautifully sang "Ijay My Head Beneath The Rose." The speakers were Bishop Jame T. Gardner, John II. Davis and Leo T. Shelley. Each of them made consoling con-soling remarks and told the children to emulate the splendid chtiractcriu- nl tics of their mother. Bishop Storri made concluding remarks, and also read two original poems written by Miss Virginia Eggerlm-n of Sprlng- vllle, a former resident of this city, in respect to the deceased. Interspersing the speakers, Leland '' Priday plared a violin solo and Mrn. Edith G. Young sang "A Christian'! h Goodnight". The closing musical number was "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go Dear Lord" by the double quartet. Howard Paxman accompanied all the muHieal numbers. The benediction was pronounced by Thomas Coddlngton. '' Interment was made In the city ll cemetery, where President S. L. Chip- '; man dedicated the grave. "' |
