Show school expects to gain many honors. Our chances are now at stake, and everyone realizes that it is now or never for the studentbody, faculty and team members are working with a never-say-die attitude. The high jump will be a mam factor fac-tor in winning. This event will be taken care of toy Dean Walker, who jumps 5 feet 11 inches very frequently frequent-ly Marvin Pierson, Joseph Adams and Alfred Dexter consistently clear the 5 foot 8 mark. The pole vault event will be well mastered by Rex Gourley, Roy Fryer and Rodney Walker. Rex at present clears the bar at 11 feet 2 inches. Abel Eikens and Rex Gourley will bear the burden of throwing the discus dis-cus and javlin to the present record mark. The weight event will be handled by Lauritz Peterson and Kayle Linebaugh. We have some exceptionally fast sprinters. Derral Walker, Dean Walker and La Verl Warburton are the most outstanding, thus, the sprints will be well represented. Warburton is also a fast 440 yard man; as are LaVar Hooley and Guy Hardman. Carl Louder and Forrest Smith will make sure to better the present records, in the 880 yard run. The broad jump record will be broken by Dean Walker, with Warren War-ren Anderson only a few inches behind be-hind Dean. Warren Anderson, Joe Heidenreich and Kayle Linebaugh expect to take advantage of the new ruling in the hurdle event. Bill Beal and Lauritz Pterson, two ever-lasting men will run the mile. j We have our first competitive meet j today at Spanish Fork in a triangular triangu-lar contest. The district track meetj will not be held until May 17th, thisj late date being set so as to keep the interest of track sustained until the close of school and to better the condition of the participants in the meet. The members of the team are developing de-veloping rapidly under direction of E. R.
