Show Lions Club Hold First Luncheon The newly organized Lions Club held their first business meeting and luncheon Wednesday evening. Seven, teen members andl twenty-five guests were present. - i i "America" lm by tne mui director, Melvin Grant, was sung by the group, after which Lion President Elroy R. West welcomed the guests and explained the meaning of "Lion- ism" and the benefits derived irom such a civic organization in any community- A cello solo by Ford M. Poulson accompanied by Leada Thompson, was the next number. Leo Hansen, past District wveiu-or, wveiu-or, gave interesting news of what Lionism has done in other places andl explained what it will do here. "Tabby and Bun" of American! Fork accompanied by Mrs. Mary Humphries, furnished musical selections selec-tions during the evening. ' Lion President Dr. G- S. Richards of American Fork, spoke of the great future of Lionism in Pleasant Grove. The speaker of the evening was K- B. Sauls of the B. Y. U- He spoke of existing traditions in Russia and his trip through Europe and Siberia. Salute to American Flag was the concluding feature. The committee in charge of the affair were: Clarence Hill, vlceresident, Rulon Dixon, tail twister, and Leo Theobald of the Board of Directors. |
