Show American Fork to Celebrate July Twenty-fourth American Fork will celebrate July 24th. To the many who have won-dercd won-dercd what has become of the old American Fork pep which has characterized char-acterized some of the biggest celebrations cele-brations of any city this size in the state, will be glad to learn that plans for a city celebration on this day are under way. This decision was reached at the last meeting of the Lions club, held Thursday night, June 14th. Another decision of equal interest is that American Fork will celebrate Poultry Day in 1935, and the naming- of committees to formulate plans for a bigger and better Utah Poultry Day will be done in the very near future that those having charge of the various phases of the celebration cele-bration may be on the lookout during dur-ing the coming year for celebration features. At the meeting of the club the members first listened to the Baer-Carnera Baer-Carnera fight over the radio. Tire club coffers were swelled to the extent ex-tent of 80e by fines extracted from those occupying "ring side" seats around the machine. A report from Martin Nielsen, chairman of the major project committee com-mittee was heard. The project is for the construction of an outdoor swimming poo, the exact location of which is still undecided. The estimated cost of the project is SOO for materials; the labor to be provided under an FERA project. Tt is expected that the club will receive re-ceive the support of the city, civic clubs and all business organizations. o |
