Show Mrs. Golden S. Baxter and Miss LaPriel Myers of Sandy spent Tuesday Tues-day in American Fork with their j parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Myers, j Mrs Mary H. Brown of Los Angeles; Ange-les; Asborn Brown and Florence Dugal of Salt Lake were visitors here , Sunday with Mrs. June S. Wright. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Baird and children spent Monday in the capi-tol capi-tol city, Mr. Baird having business matters to attend to at the state capitol building. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gowers and children, Mrs. A. J. Gowers and Mrs. Ronald Gowers of Nephi, spent last week-end here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Clyde. Prof. G. W. Fitzroy of the B. Y. U. Music faculty has resumed his summer sum-mer teaching' at the home of Mr. Ben Moffett. Has room still for three more music students. Mrs. Ellen Meeks and Mrs. Ber-nice Ber-nice Meeks, mother and sister-in-law respectively of Mrs. J. O. Meeks are here visiting the Meeks family from Alberta, Canada. They arrived Monday. Mon-day. Mr. and Mrs. William Thornton entertained at dinner Tuesday night in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Pierson who leave in the very near future for Los Angeles to reside. Mr.' and Mrs. Mark Coddington and son are spending the week here from the Coddington ranch near Colton. W. A. Dennis is in from the New Deal Mine near Goldhill, for a two weeks' visit with his sister, Mrs. A. W. Clyde and family. Miss Mary M-arsh had her tonsils removed Tuesday morning by Dr. V. F. Houston here and is recovering nicely from the operation. Miss Emily Brown of Kanab, who is attending school this summer in Salt Lake, spent last week-end here with Mrs. Emily K. Adamson, who is very ill at her home. Will Wright's Navigators left American Fork Thursday night, responding re-sponding to a call from Radio Broadcasting Station KTFI to commence com-mence playing an engagement at Radioland, southern Idaho's most beautiful ball room in Radio Center, Twin Falls, Idaho. Mrs. Thomas W. Sims and children chil-dren Bonnie Jean and Norman, left Monday for their home in Westwood, California, after spending the past three weeks with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wright here. Mrs. Sims was formerly form-erly Miss Ada Wright. Friends here are receiving cards from Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Paxman of Provo, formerly of American Fork, who are enroute to New York. The Paxman's will spend a month touring tour-ing the principal points of interest in the east. Elwood Sinclair is in American Am. Fork Locals George Scott of Alpine was operated operat-ed upon Monday in the Lehi Hospital Hospi-tal for appendicitis and is making a good recovery. Mrs. A. M. Smith of Logan spent last Saturday and Sunday here visiting with her sister, Mrs. James Binnall. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman T. Wright have returned to their home in Twin Falls, Idaho, after spending a week's vacation with relatives and friends in American Fork and Salt Lake. Mrs. Glen Robinson and small daughter leaves tonight for San Jose, California, where they will spend the summer with Mr. and Mrs. Rushton, the parents of Mrs. Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nelson and daughter are enjoying a visit of two weeks in Boise, Idaho, with the parents of Mrs. Nelson, and their friends in that city. James (Moody) King of Sacramento, Sacra-mento, California, is expected to arrive ar-rive this week to visit with his sister, Mrs. Leo T. Shelley and relatives here. Other members of his family will possibly accompany him to Utah. The Shelleys also are expecting their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Comer (Mary Shelley) for a two weeks visit from Boulder City, Nevada. The marriage of Miss Barbara Lott and Morris Trane, both of Joseph K. The injury was given immediate im-mediate medical attention and is doing as nicely as can be expected. Mr. and Mrs. David S. Taylor, Dr. and Mrs. V. F. Houston returned last Thursday night from a short visit in Mohrland with Mr. and Mrs. N. Lee Kirk. Miss Shirley Taylor accompanied her parents home after spending several weeks with the Kirks. Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Shelley and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Walker Walk-er attended a family party given by Mr. and Mrs. J. Sanford Walker of Pleasant Grove Saturday night for their son, Bernard, who left this week for Washington, D. C, where he will be employed. i Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peterson and children left last week for Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Friends of Jesse M. Wright will be glad to learn that hs is now on the improve after a seige of serious illness. Mr. Walker has had spotted spot-ted fever, the result of a tick bite received while he was at Morgan two weeks ago and for several days his condition was quite serious. Connie, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shei-man Robinson, was badly burned on one shoulder and forearm late List week when she toddled over to a table and pulled a percolator of hot coffee down upon herself. She has been in much pain but is now resting easier. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Ryan have moved into the Don Berg home, the Bergs having gone to the Berg ranch for the summer. Mr. Ryan has taken tak-en over the Shell Oil station recently recent-ly erected on the corner of Main and Grant Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. William Thornton, Clifford E. Young and daughter, Miss Helen Young, were in attend- Mi-s. Agnes Cunningham of Bur-ley, Bur-ley, Idaho, is spending the week in American Fork with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steele, Mr. and Mrs. John Webb left last week for Lago, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Steele returned Tuesday night and will divide their time between here and Lago this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Webb will remain on the Steele farm there until fall. Miss Virginia Thornton celebrated her 13th birthday on Wednesday, June 13th, by having a party. Eighteen Eigh-teen friends were bidden and the afternoon was spent in . playing games of various kinds after which the young hostess' mother, Mrs. William Thornton, served a dainty . lunch. Lchi, takes place today (Friday) in the Salt Lake temple. Miss Lott is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Lott and Mr. Trane the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Trane. Miss Lott has been employed for the past two years in the Alpine School District office here and during that time has made a host of friends in this city who wish for her a very happy wedded wed-ded life. Saturday night at the Lott home in Lehi a wedding reception will be held. A number of American Fork friends and relatives of both families have been bidden. Mr. and Mrs. Trane will reside in Salt Lake where Mr. Trane is employed. They will reside at 555 East 1st South street. Fork, greeting his former friends, from Huntington Park, Cal. With Mr. Sinclair is his nephew, Sinclair Greene of that city, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Greene, his mother having been Miss Cleo Sinclair of this city before her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Peterson and daughter Sheila Florence arrived Monday night from San Francisco and are spending the week here with Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Stewart and other relatives rela-tives and with relatives of Mr. Peterson in Lehi. Mrs. Peterson formerly was Miss Edna Stewart. Friends here of Mrs. Wayne Shelley Shel-ley of Bingham will be pleased to learn she is now able to be up on her feet and take a few steps each day after being bedfast for the past three months. Mrs. Shelley was operated op-erated upon in the early spring for appendicitis which was followed within a few days by another severe illness. Mr. and Mrs. A. Ray Olpin and three daughters of Charlotte, N. C, arrived the first of the week. Mr. Olpin will visit here several weeks and will then return to North Carolina. Caro-lina. Mrs. Olpin and children will spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Chipman. They made the trip in their automobile and visited the World's Fair in Chicago Chi-cago enroute to Utah. ance last Friday and Saturday at the Utah State Bankers Association convention held at Bryce's canyon. The convention was the most largely large-ly attended of any yet held and enjoyed by everyone. Mr. and Mrs. George Hyde, who have been living in the R. E. Booth apartments, have moved to Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Jennie' Strong and family moved this week from the W. A. Homer home into the east apartment apart-ment of the old W. S. Chipman home on Main street. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nicholes have moved into the apartment apart-ment formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Nicholes in the Jack Sager home. George Moss was the recipient of a happy surprise last Friday night when upon returning from a short visit that evening he was greeted by a group of friends who had come to celebrate his birthday. Mrs. Moss arranged the party. The evening was spent in playing "Five Hundred", the high score prize being won by Mrs. Mate Earl and Sherman Robinson Rob-inson and the consolation favor by Dave Kahn. A delicious lunch was served at the small tables to the following guests: Messrs. and Mes-dames Mes-dames Sherman Robinson, Ed Moss, Alan Pierson, Adair Bromley, Melvin Grant, Glen Robinson, Wilson Cunningham, Cun-ningham, Ray Shelley, C.
