Show Mrs. Jones of the County Exten- sion service bureau was in Am. ' Fork last Thursday afternoon to five the final O. K. to the work accomplished ac-complished by the class of women and girls which met several times for instruction under the capable leadership of the Extension Service workers. The remodeling of clotting clotti-ng to assist in limited budgets was the main consideration and a picture pic-ture of the ladies in the class m their newly remodeled dresses was taken. Following this Mrs. Jones was honor guest at a social in the city hall arrangad by a committee of the four wards headed by Mrs. Nell Karren. Local Items Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Storrs are the happy parents of a son, born last week. The mother, formerly Miss Jennie Grant, and the new arrival ar-rival are doing well. Junius Noyes, youngest son of Dr. , and Mrs. J. F. Noyes, returned Wed-jtrip Wed-jtrip to Chicago where he enjoyed nesday morning from a two weeks ithe World's Fair. The opening social of the season ifor the Fourth ward Relief Society ; members was highly enjoyed by the j forty, ladies who participated Tues-'day Tues-'day afternoon. The party was held I at the home of Mrs. Thomas Cod-.dington. Cod-.dington. A program was given consisting con-sisting of the following numbers: Two cornet solos by Elwood Dean; two vocal solos, Mrs. V. F. Houston; a talk on her recent trip to the World's Fair, Mrs. E. Ray Gardner, and vocal and instrumental selections selec-tions by Masters Boyd Coddington and Jesse Greene. Refreshments were served after the program. i On Thursday, September 7th, the Ladies Literary Club held the first meeting of the season at the home of Mrs. Hans Christensen with Mrs. J. F. Noyes assisting hostess. The rooms were tastefully decorated in fall flowers in. keeping with the season. During the afternoon Mrs. William Chipman gave, an interest-I interest-I ing acount of her visit to the Century Cen-tury of Progress Exposition in Chicago, and Mrs. Byron Crook-ston, Crook-ston, another visitor to the Fair from this city gave some additional interesting points. Mrs. Elisha Boley and Mrs. Leon Wagstaff, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Alice Parker, rendered several vocal numbers. A beneficial and pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by all the ladies. |
