Show Pleasant Grove Locals j Guy Sorenson of Salt Lake, was a guest at the W. W. Lim home Sunday. ' Mrs. Hazel Backus is seriously ill with rheumatism at the American Fork hospital. Mr. and Mrs. William Aston of Pleasant Grove, were guests Tuesday Tues-day of Mrs. Emily Aston. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Robertson of Ogden were guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Robertson. Jos. A. Dickerson, employed as section foreman at Nephi, spent the week-end with his family here. Sunday the regular monthly Sunday Sun-day School union meeting will be held in the Second ward chapel Mrs. Garland Clark spent the past week-end in Santaquin visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Robbins. A Junior class in geneology was started Monday, January 15th. Next Monday the group will meet and organize and enjoy a social. Mrs. Coral Gillman and Mrs. Nellie York entertained Friday afternoon af-ternoon at a social at the Ray GUI-man GUI-man home in honor of Mrs. Ber-nice Ber-nice Lowder. David Greene returned Friday from Ogden where he attended the Livestock Show. He had charge of the cattle belonging to the Bank of Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Clarence Weeks and three children stopped over in Pleasant Grove last Saturday and Sunday while enroute home by bus, from California to Burley, Idaho. Miss Gennieve Bluth of ElPaso, Texas, is visiting with the Farr : family while attending the B. Y. TJ. : at Provo. ' Miss Bluth is a niece ' of Mrs. Hilda Farr. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Giles and ! daughter, Amy, of Heber, and Mar-' Mar-' telle Lund of Los Angeles, California, Califor-nia, were guests Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hayes. The Misses Lucile Wadley, Hah Thome, Leda Hanson, Maybelle Farr, Edna Gillman and Mrs. Ber-niee Ber-niee Jacobs were guests last Friday Fri-day afternoon of Mrs. Dorothy Smith Evans at Lehi. Mrs. H. W. Jacobs, Mrs. J. R. Halliday, Hal-liday, Mrs. Fred C. Shoell and Mrs. Jos. A. Dickerson attended to business busi-ness errands while her three companions com-panions attended a luncheon and social given by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Union Pacific Old Timers club. The Christensen Thrift Stores have been holding a convention at Salt Lake City during the past week. Lee Peterson, manager of the local store, has been attending the convention. Mrs. Lucile Parduhn and Mrs. LaRue Smith have been taking charge of the' store during his absence. , Ruth Fage, a nurse at the L. D. S. hospital, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Mary B. Fage.' Mrs. Vern Gillman and daughter, Edna, are spending a few days in Price with their husband and father fath-er who is employed there. The Windsor ward will hold a banquet and program Saturday evening, eve-ning, January 20, to raise funds for ward maintainence. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Overlade of Salt Lake City, were guests of Mrs. Overlade's mother, Mrs. Mary Weeks on Sunday. Mrs. George Jacklin of American Fork entertained at dinner Wednesday Wednes-day evening in honor of her husband's hus-band's birthday. The guests from Lindon were Bishop and Mrs. D. B. Thome, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gillman, Jesse K. Thorne and Leda Hanson. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Lim entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday in honor of their son Neldon and family. Neldon left Sunday evening for Denver, Den-ver, Colorado, where he will be employed em-ployed by the government in civil engineering work. If the job proves to be permanent, Mrs. Lim and the family will move to Denver later. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Clark, Mr. and" Mrs. Evan Gamett, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin West, Dr. John Z. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. J. Clarence Clark, Mrs. Jessie Green of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. William Conder and Mr. and Mrs. James Halsey, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen L. Chipman of American Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Heiselt of Provo, were among the out-of-town guests who attended the funeral of Joseph -Brigham Clark Monday. Mrs. LeRoy rrhorne entertained at a social Tuesday evening in honor hon-or of her' husband's birthday. The evening was spent in progressive games and social chat. The guests included Messrs and Mesdames, Golden Peay, Dr. C. O. Jenson, Howard Ho-ward Matthews, Paul Adamson, Robert Marrott, Vera Cullimore and Mrs. Jennie Halliday. Dr. C. O. Jenson won the gentleman's prize and Mrs, Golden Peay the ladies prize, while Robert Marrott was awarded the consolation) prize. Dainty refreshments were served, A group of associates of Mrs. Re-va Re-va Christiansen Warburton, entertained enter-tained at a shower in her honor at the M. S. Christiansen home Monday Mon-day evening. The time was spent in- miscellaneous games and social chat. Many beautiful gifts were received by Mrs. Warburton. Those present were the Misses Elda Neves, Mildred Christiansen, Gwen West, Margaret Lee, Gene Richins, Phyllis Hilton, Dorothy Williamson, Bernice Christiansen, Fern Radmall, La-Preal La-Preal Walker, Elaine Radmall, Mrs. Letha Hanson, Mrs. Lurena Radmall, Rad-mall, Mrs. Avis West, Mrs. Leah Huntsman and Mrs. Nello Nielson. D. U. P. HOLD MEETING The Windsor camp of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers held a meeting Thursday at the home of Mrs. Stella Stel-la Gillman. After the program a social hour and refreshments were enjoyed. The Daughters of the Pioneers held a meeting Thursday, January 11th, at the home of Mrs. Mary Weeks. Vice President Lorena White was in charge and sixteen members were present. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Helen Harvey, the second Thursday in February. n Mrs. Clara Kirk entertained Thursday evening at a family dinner in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Tolman and family of Delco, Idaho. Other relatives included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. Theron J. Kirk of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Milton King of Carbon county, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Baxter, Mr. and Mrs. Odeal Kirk, Verl Kirk and Utah Keetch. A group of neighbors and friends gave a pleasant surprise on Mrs. Janie Armitstead at her home Tuesday Tues-day evening. The group arrived with picnic and plans all arranged for an enjoyable evening of pro-I pro-I gressive 500 and social chat. In the group were Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande White, Mr. and Mi's. Frank Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Tomlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Bezzant, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mills. |
