Show M. I. A. Adopts Su Trier Projects Tln di:;cu:ion of a number and the aIoptl-m of several summer projects pro-jects was the purpose of a meeting hi:!d in the tithing office Monday night, attended by M. I. A. stake and ward executives and activity leaders. The .summer projects program as outlined by the General Board of the M. I. A. and presented at the recent conference in Salt Lake was thoroughly discussed and those pro-( jects which the M. I. A. workers felt could be handled in this community were considered. Following are the projects which; will be undertaken in this stake be-; tween now and fall: 1. A fair, sX)nsored canjointly by the stake and ward organizations in which vegetables, flowers, handicraft, domestic science and art products, etc. etc' will be displayed. The fair wlll be held Just before the Utah County Fair in the fall. 2. Each ward to hold separately a Mothers and Daughters outing and a Fathers and Sons outing in August. 3. Each ward to make a survey of places of historical interest within the ward which have not been marked mark-ed heretofore. 4. To co-operate with city recreation recrea-tion program in community service projects such as baseball, entertainments, entertain-ments, children's recreation, etc. 5. To institute and organize an Alpine stake hike to Mount Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos from the American Fork side. 6. To sponsor a ward horse shoe pitching tournament. 7. The stake to campaign against careless and reckless driving that the death rate through carelessness may be cut down. Consideration was given the spon-. spon-. soring of a stake M. I. A. Chauta-qua Chauta-qua and this project will be taken up following the receipt of additional information from the General Board. The summer camp activity will be conducted as heretofore at Mutual Dell. |
