Show Reception For Young Couple Is Charming Event An outstanding event of the season sea-son was the wedding reception given Wednesday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Burgess, by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Atwood. The young couple were married Monday evening in' the Salt Lake temple, by President Stephen L. Chipman. The bride is the former Erma Atwood. Mr. Burgess is a son of Bishop and Mrs. Edward Burgess of Alpine. In the receiving line at the hall were Mr. and Mrs. Atwood, Bishop and Mrs. Edward Burgess, the bride and bridegroom; Miss Helen War-nick, War-nick, the maid of honor; Reid Burgess, Bur-gess, best man; Mrs. Angela Clark and Mrs. Christina Warnick, grandmothers grand-mothers of the bride and bridegroom, bride-groom, respectively; and William West. The bride was charming in a gown of net, over white satin, and carried a bride's bouquet of pink American Beauty roses. She was attended by Miss War-nick, War-nick, who wore a gown of blue net over satin, and carried a corsage of sweet peas. Mrs. Atwood wore a black lace crepe gown, and Mrs. Burgess a wine-colored crepe gown. The reception hall was prettily decorated with baskets of pink and white dahlias, and golden marigold and Oregon grape. Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick was in charge of the serving. The table was covered with a hand-made lace cloth and had on it a crystal bowl of pink and golden roses with crystal cry-stal candelabra holding cream-color' er tapers. Presiding at the table were Martha Eldredge and Mrs. Kenneth Adams. Assisting with the serving were Leah Wadley, Leah Jean Swen-son, Swen-son, Donna Eves, Beverly West, Ula Burgess, and Lyle Beth Atwood. In charge of the gift room were Mrs. Harold Bair, Mrs. Grover Clark and Mrs. Grace Bateman, assisted by Marilyn and Irene Warnick. President Wilford W. Warnick acted as master of ceremonies at the program, which included a trio number in charge of Bernadine Richins and accompanied by Mrs. Grace Croft; a reading by Mayrene Marsh; a duet by Nina Stratton and Melva Calder, accompanied by Mrs. Wilford Neves; and a reading by Mrs. Calvin Swenson. . o |
