Show I u ' Appeal Made To Athletic Minded With the coming of spring there comes to every individual a desire to forget the past and begin life anew. To build, plant and to clean up the undesirables collected by a long period of indoor idleness. This same spirit enters every lover of sports. He can hardly wait until the weather permits to tee off for the first game of golf or limber up on the tennis1 court, then the greatest of all national sports, baseball, claims millions of America's Amer-ica's youth. The very hope of the world rests with the youthful years and spirit. The youth of today carry with them the destiny of the nation. Are you doing your part to prepare them for the responsibilities of the future? Today the need for men and women wom-en with clean, strong bodies and alert minds is very evident. Perhaps Per-haps we have them today. What about tomorrow? We should have enough civic pride and love of our youth to seriously consider their recreation. Is it not better to spend time and money in preventing crime; than spending both to punish pun-ish the offender? Good recreation is a sure cure for crime. If all people would use their leisure in serving! their fellow fel-low men and provide a substitute for young peoples' idle moments, there would be no time left for evil thoughs and deeds. The American Fork Athletic club desires your confidence and support in helping them sponsor an Athletic Ath-letic program. This matter rests entirely with you to make it a success suc-cess or failure. Your action will demonstrate your interest in this matter. Practice for baseball will begin next week at the City Park. Everyone Every-one is invited to attend. n |
