Show City Council Handles Business The City Council met in the council rooms at 7:30 o'clock Saturday Satur-day night. Several items of business were taken up as follows: Mr. Walker moved that the pound keeper release no cattle, horses or stock of any kind until bill is collected col-lected unless ordered by the Mayor. The motion carried- Mr. Clark reported a bridge had i been broken on one of the crossings, j but that the same had been rebuilt. re-built. He also stated the Union Pa-i'cific Pa-i'cific Railroad had moved their crossing sign nearer the fence line on the Sam White Lane as requested request-ed by the council. A letter was read from, the Salt Lake & Utah R- R. company informing the Mayor and council their request had been complied with and that the crossing near the Mark Richins home had been put in fine shape. Mr. Loader reported the committee commit-tee appointed by the Mayor from the council had met with the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce and that this com-niittee com-niittee had agreed not to spend more than $20 00 from the city funds in the Christmas program, 'the balance by the C. of C. The Mayor reported 75 more sacks of cement had been received for the bridge and culvert project, the first 50 sacks having been used He stated gravel and rocks had been distributed where needed from Second Sec-ond South to the North City Limits on Center Street for this work. The Marshal was notified to instruct in-struct those selling beer that their licenses expired December 31, 1934, at mid-night and that the same should be renewed if they wish to continue selling in 1935- Mr. Walker moved that in as much as the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers were granted a 99 year lease for the ground in the City Park upon which their log cabin stands, as shown by the minutes of October 3. 1931. and that in as much as the same has net been attended at-tended to, that the present recorder have the necessary papers drawn up and delivered to them for the sum of one dollar.
