Show Births Decline From Last Year The births in American Fork during dur-ing the year 1934 totaled 77, a decline de-cline of 25 as compared with the total of 102 for the year preceding. Of the 77 births, 43 were females and 34 were males, according to the records of Mrs. Hazel Shelley, registrar reg-istrar of vital statistics. The birth rate exceeded the death rate by 17. the total deaths rpnorripri here being 60. Of this number pneumonia led the list in causes, 13 having succumbed from this disease. Heart and kidney kid-ney trouble ran a close second, claiming 12. Of the total 13 were infant deaths and 10 died of ailments ail-ments incident to old age; 5 from carcinoma (cancer); 2 of tuberculosis, tubercu-losis, 1 of Addison's disease, 1 of appendicitis, l from an accident and 1 was a suicide. o |
