Show Funeral Services For Eldon Chadwick Largely Attended , Largely attended were the funeral services for Eldon E. Chadwick, 20, conducted Saturday, May 3, at 3 p. m. in the Fourth ward chapel. Eldon passed away at the L. D. S. hospital Salt Lake City, Wednesday, May 1, where he had been confined following a serious operation, which he underwent the week previous. The casket and rostrum were completely covered with flowers, which were silent tributes bespeak- ing the respect in which Eldon and the Chadwick family are held by the community. Counselor James E. Peters officiated officiat-ed at the services which opened with a vocal duet "Unanswered Yet" sung by Mrs. Detta Taylor and Mrs. Lyle Grant. The invocation was given by W. J. Chadwick. The next musical number was a vocal duet "Wispering Hope" by Morley Steele and Mrs. Ora H. Chipman. The speakers were Reed H. Robin-sou Robin-sou of the Third ward bishopric, Dr. James M. Grant, William Chipman, manager of the Chipman Mercantile Co., where Eldon was employed, and Bishop Lot Robinson of the Fourth ward. Interspersing the speakers, Miss Ann Clayson played two violin solos "The Perfect Day" and "Farewell To Thee," and Ray Shelley sang a voca! solo "Lay My Head Beneath The Rose." A double mixed quartet sang as a concluding selection "Sometime We'll Understand", after which Lec T. Hansen pronounced the benediction. benedic-tion. Interment was made in the city , cemetery, where President Earl S Greenwood dedicated the grave. |
