Show ALPINE NEWS Mrs. L. Bates, Reporter. TMPRESSIVK FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. DEAN SMITH Impressive funeral services were t held Friday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Holman Smith, wife of Dean Smith, who died at the ,Lehl hospital the' previous Tuesday following an operation opera-tion for goitre. The services were under the direction direc-tion of Bishop E. W. Burgess. The opening song was a vocal duet by Mrs. Frank Bateman and Mrs. Will-ard Will-ard Cleghorn and the invocation was by Uames W. Vance. A vocal duct by Mrs. Ora Chipman and Marley Steele accompanied by Miss Ann Chipman ot American Fork. A biographical sketch was read by Mrs. May Marsh. The speakers were Bishop Atwood Pleasant Grove Third ward, Ezra F. Walker of Pleasant Grove, Leo Hansen, Han-sen, Supt. David Gourley and Pres. C. E. Young, closing remarks were ; made by Bishop Burgess. Interspers-j Interspers-j ing the remarks of the speakers, a solo was rendered by Mrs. Robert AValker of Lindou. The closing song was a solo by Mrs. C. E. Young, after which the benediction was pronounced pronounc-ed by Don C. Strong. The grave in the Alpine cemetery was dedicated by Joseph F. Marsh. The floral offerings were many and Very beautiful and with the large crowd in attendance testified to the love and esteem felt for the family. ' Many relatives and friends from Alpine attended the funeral services for Myron Greene at American Fork Saturday. Mrs. Adin H. Brown entertained the Happy Dozen club at her home Wednesday afternoon. The usual activities ac-tivities were engaged in after which, a dainty lunch was served. The Young Mothers club pleasantly pleasant-ly surprised Mrs. Loy Beck at her home Thursday afternoon. The afternoon after-noon was spent in needlework and social chat, after which a dainty lunch was served. Mrs. J. Henry Beck and two small children of Magna, are visiting Mrs. Beck's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Healey. |
