Show People Warned to Watch Clothes, Gas Tanks & Cellars The citizens of Pleasant Grove are warned to take good care to . lock garages and cellars and even gas tank- wh:n cars stand outside. Reports Re-ports have come in from all parts of the ci.y cf gasoline thefts. Last Thursday night the Misses Viola and Josephine West had filled their car with gasoline preparing to leave early for Salt Lake City on a business tri;-. The next morning their lock on the garage door was missing and the tank drained. All of the best underwear, under-wear, bo:e 'and towels which had been hung on the line were taker. -The srme evening Verdell Sundberg cf Salt Lake, was visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. V. Sund-berg, Sund-berg, and in the morning the tank was empty ar.d a $10.00 auto h:m had been stripped from the car. The auto tracks left at the Sund-berg Sund-berg residence and the West home were the same. They could be traced from the West home to the j Sundberg home. On Saturday night Alma Christiansen's Chris-tiansen's car was relieved of its tank 1 of gasoline while it was standing ! within a short distance of an open i bedroom window. The tracks were identical bo those at the Sundberg and West homes and provided a good lead for the arrest of the guilty party or parties. A can of oid crank case oil was also taken from the J. A Dickerson home the thieves evidently thinking it to be gasoline. Mrs. Minnie Curtis had her cellar entered last Saturday night and nearly all of the season's store of fruit was taken. Mrs. Wesley Beck : also had all the hose stolen from the line. Numerous other reports of petit larcency have been sent in but as! yet no arrests have been made. Citi- zens must be on their guard and take care of. their property. Report' all losses to the proper authorities who will follow up every available clue. Call in the sheriff's office if . 'necessary and make an example of, the offenders. The full extent of the ' law to a few of these "petty thieves" would stop some of the offenders and perhaps make honest citizens of them. |
