Show Cockerels Bring $20,000 to Local Poultrymen The 1934 crop of cockerels in the American Fork Utah Poultry plant district will bring growers $20,000 according to estimates of plant Manager Man-ager Walter Steffens. To date ten carloads of cockerels have been shipped out of American Fork and it is estimated that another an-other five cars are yet to be shipped. Each car contains 12,000 pounds and the average price has been eleven i cents per pound. Shipments have gone to middle western points where they have gone into cold storage plants. Some three of the ten cars have been trucked to Provo and Salt Lake cold storage plants for local markets. The 1934 returns on cockerels has been considerable ahead of last year when at this season the price had shumped to eight cents a pound.- |
