Show Drouth Relief Well Assured American Fork American Fork is now assured a large drouth relief well at the head of the irrigation system in the opinion of Nate Robinson, president of the American Fork Irrigation Co. At least a twelve inch pipe will be driven hi the vicinity of the flour mill site .north of the city in the old creek bed. The state drouth committee engineer engi-neer and geologist, Mr. Watson, was down Monday and went over the district dis-trict at the head of the irrigation system and assured the local irrigation irriga-tion board members that there is no question about there being water under the designated district near the mill. He will return to American Ameri-can Fork today or tomorrow and definitely designate a well site. Partial arrangements have already al-ready been made for a drilling rig and as soon as the type of pipe (possibly a week) can be secured work on the well will be started. The American Fork Irrigation company has been endeavoring for weeks to get just such a set up from the state drouth committee and feel repaid for their long fight. A well at the head of the system will give the greatest relief to the greatest number of landowners and will prove of great value yet this year, it is hoped. At the worst it will save much of the perminent plantings on farms and lots later in the season. |
