Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McDaniel and children left Wednesday for Salt Lake City, where they will make their home. Friends of Mrs. Clyde Strong will be pleased to know that she was able to be brought to her home Wednesday. Mrs. Strong was operated upon at the Lehi hospital about four weeks ago. Mrs. Annie Watkins of Provo, formerly form-erly of Alpine, is the guest of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Andrews. n o ALPINE NEWS Mrs. L. Bates, Reporter. Mrs. Mary Stewart left Wednesday for her home in Philadelphia, after spending several days visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Marsh. While here she visited our school which she says is one of the best grade schools she has ever visited visit-ed in country towns. Mrs. Stewart is a teacher of much experience and takes the opportunity of visiting the schools wherever she stops off in her travels. She expects to leave immediately for a tour of Europe. Thirty-six relatives and friends of A. E. Marsh met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Marsh, Friday in honor of his 59th birthday. Among the out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. John Devey, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. James Spratley, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Chad-wick, Chad-wick, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Okey and Mrs. Minnie Webb of American Fork. The Daughters of the Pioneers held their regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. F. C. Clark Friday afternoon. A history of Mrs. Sarah C. Okey Marsh was read by her granddaughter, grand-daughter, Miss Myrtle Groo. A chapter chap-ter of the history of Utah was given by Mrs. Ida Cameron. A reading was given by Mrs. Ann Clark. There were twenty-nine present. Luncheon was served by Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Mary E. Okey. Mrs. Roy Harris and baby of Lin-don, Lin-don, were week-end guests of Mrs. Adin Brown. Mrs. Warren V. Clark entertained the Young Mothers club at her home last Thursday. The afternoon was spent with needle work and social chat, after which a dainty lunch was served. Mrs. Emma McDaniel of Idaho, was the guest during the week of her sister, Mrs. Ella Martin. Mrs. Me Daniel was formerly a resident of Alpine. Mrs. Ellis Terry left the first of the week for California, where she will visit with her brothers, George and Samuel Hutchison, and her sister, Miss Mario Healey at Los Angeles. |
