Show Two teams tie for men's league leadership transmission team close the second half. SAVEAK held on by playing consistent basketball to beat Argus Technologies 62-50. SAVEAK was led by Terry Peterson with 14, while Scott Kohler and Kelly Memmott supported him with 10 each. Brent Heaps had the hot hand with 20, while Dave Affleck with 12 were the top scorers for Argus Tech. Interwest, striving to stay close to the top with a 3-1 record, beat Chipman's Plumbing 87-41. Blen Freestone with 19, Craig Bradley had 17 and Shawn Reeves with 14, were the big gunners for Interwest. Chad Chipman with 16 and Brett Campbell with 13 were the leading scorers for Chipman's. They just could not match the height and shooting power of the Interwest team. Kelly's Plumbing ran into a red hot Walker OilLindon Precision team to the tune of 65-40. Pre-holiday games in the Pleasant Grove City Sr. men's Basketball League were generally won by lopsided scores, as the upper division teams faced off with those whose league record would classify them as mid- to lower-division lower-division teams. The highlight game of the week was played between the Kinsmen and SouthamWarburton Aluminum, with a score of 53-50 for the Kinsmen. The game was close throughout and went right down to the wire with either team having a chance for victory. Missed foul pitches spelled the difference. Mike Shoell, Tom Hamann and Colby Adamson led the Kinsmen with 14, 11 and 10 points respectively, yhile Mark Atwood scored 18 points (one point above his season average) to lead the aluminum team. He was assisted by Ron Ash with 12 and Scott Fairbanks with 11. Steve Peterson interiors won over a hard-playing Interstate Tran- smission team 57-36. The transmission tran-smission team never gave up as they fell behind by half-time 31-10, but came back and played the interiors in-teriors men. even the entire second half. The win enabled the Steve Peterson sponsored team to remain atop the league - tied with Walker OilLindon Precision with a 4-0 record. Justin Bone and Rob Church led the Peterson team with 16 and 14 points respectively, while Mike Harris with 10 points kept the Howe with 13. Brent Clark with 13 and Gregg Carson with 10 were not enough to stay with the well balanced attack of the WOLP team. Story Pharmacy won by forfeit when the Lamoreaux Concrete team failed to field a team.
