Sandbank. Away. The thirteen year old son of Mr. aad Mis. Philo Allen of Escala- nte was buried in a sand bank, when he and Jbis older brother were digging caves in the bank out about fifty miles from Escalante, ar.d died before help could reach him. The boys had gone down on the desert to ride for catt)9 with their father and companions and at noon decided they were too tired to go out on the horses any more so would stay in camp. The father returred to thfe camp fern ing the boys mighc injur thv mseives with a gun which had been left there, it seems he had a feeiirg 0f uneasiness leaving them alone.
