June Dili Rejuvination in some of the geysers in the Noi ris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Rail; is a recent attraction to the already wonderful crests of this legion, and in so chang- ing, greater activity, which in previous years has been marked by n steady backward tendency, is now awakened to earlier exhibitions of regularity. The Constant Geyser, which has been inactive during the past two seasons, and only erupting a few times during the two years previous to that time, has now regained its youthful play every two minutes, With he melting iff snows each year Nature genet ally has a nunber of surprises for the guardians of the park. The present season is not an exception, and the former safe areas for tourists observation points will have to undergo alternations of the times. Down in the Basin itself a paint pot of gray mud has developed underneath the tourist sidewalk, which will necessitate the reconstruction of the walk to avoid this new aica of heat. At the landing platform a new pool of sulpher water has broken forth, an unusual amount of sulpher precipitatmg along the side of the pool. The most specular of all, however, is the occurence of what has been called the Red Growler, situated only a few feet from the big Black Growler, another addition to the Morris Geyser Basin. This Red Growler is a steam vent omitting roars, caused by steam heavily impregnated with iron which is to the adjoining rocks, coatwith a dark red covering. them ing I con-Jenc- ic Funny some folks hasnt said statsounded like a mother-in-la- ed |
