Show MORE BOYS HOME FROM THE ARMED SERVICE three more of our boys who have been serving their country in various branches of the armed service service for some time have arrived arrive d home during the week two of them mgt homer W adams and private howard robinson are home to stay having received their discharges from the army while the third jim whitney of the US navy is home for a months vacation mgt adams has received his discharge after about 4 and one hall half years in the service and thirty eight months in the medical corps overseas much of this time was spent in n australia with the rest on the islands of the south seas from new guinea to baack and then on leyte in the philippine islands where he was when he received the notice of his release homer was t the he third man to answer the induction call from parowan carowan Pa rowan jim whitney electricians mate third class came home the first of the week after 26 months service in the navy most of which was in bris bane and sydney australia with the latter part of it being in the philippines he has been serving on a ship repair crew ile he left here on june 9 1943 and after his training at farragut left the states on sept he landed back in the U S on july 23 but it until a week later that he was given his leave he came up from lomita california with his brother in law and sister mr and mrs phil smith and he will stay here until about sept I 1 before reporting back to his base private robinson and his wife whom he married in hot springs arkansas last april arrived in parowan carowan yesterday to stay indefinitely howard received his medical discharge from the army at the hot springs army hospital on july just two years to the day from the time he entered the service between then and the time of his discharge he has trained at camp callan san diego fort ord and camp roberts also in california and at fort sill oklahoma while here he was stricken with rheumatism on dec 9 of last year and was moved to hot springs a short time later |
