Show PEOPLE participate IN 4 H CLUB OUTING the annual county 4 H club outing was held in in cooperation with washington and kane county 4 11 clubs at the duck creek forest recreation camp july 9 10 and 11 david sharp jr state 4 11 club lead er miss rhea hurst assistant club leader and J whitney floyd extension forester assisted the local county agents in conducting the 3 day outing there were a total of club members leaders and pare parents ants who officially registered at the outing from washington from iron and from kane counties the outing consisted of educational and recreational features such as nature study hikes plant identification contests food and clothing judging contests handicraft work log sawing contests volley ball soft ball tether ball games with a large campfire campt lre program held each of the two nights of the camp the following camp officers and committee members consisting of 4 H club members were elected to take charge of the camp programs luana nelson cedar city was elected mayor elaine hirschi st george secretary and lorna graft graff santa clara as camp scribe the program committee consisted of norma edwards cedar city gladys johnson st george and shirley esplin or derville the clean camp committee consisted of jim anderson para gonah gary tullis enoch and lenore russell of Or derville the recreation committee consisted of rexine gardner of pine valley lucy esplin of orderville Or derville and joan of kanab the flag raising committee was charles crosby of st george lora mae hunter of alton and mildred sargent of cedar city the camp officers consisted of jack sargent cedar city elva finley of kanab and ralph mcarthur of st george the log sawing committee was mary lou carol of Or derville elwin talbot of paragonah Para gonah and uzell beagen of kanab the camp was better attended and perhaps the most successful otherwise that has ever been held in southern iou thern utah despite the drenching rain and hail storm which di liged aged the camp and early 4 H club arrivals monday morning the weather following the monday storm it at the camp was perfect in every respect aspect espe ct |
