Show NEWS FROM THE elementary GRADES everyone in our class donated a gift for the red cross boxes these boxes are for little children in other countries we like to be santa claus reported by first grade we have been very busy this week getting some junior red cross boxes ready for the boys and girls in england russia china and other war countries these will be the only christmas gifts many of these children will get this year we have been weaving marble bags and making handkerchiefs and wash cloths claths many of the children have brought soap marbles combs pencils crayons hair ribbons and other things to put in the boxes we think it is lots of fun to play santa claus to the little girls ana boys in the war countries reported by second grade our room has brought dolls pencils books tooth brushes tooth powder sewing materials chandker chiefs soap marbles and crayons to school to fill f ill junior red cross boxes these boxes will be sent to children in foreign countries we are still bringing salvage material so our scrap pile will continue to grow larger we are also saving our money to buy defense stamps and bonds reported by john A carnei and larry decker 3rd ard grade saturday we received a letter from the third grade in cedar city lit it was a very nice letter they said they were studying about indians before we received the letter we wrote to them and told them they could take a magazine that had some information about indians in it they said they would like to take the magazine very much reported by marilyn ward this year the elementary grades are sending presents to the children in europe this morning grace smoot brot a live butterfly to school we put it on a plant last friday we saw a woodpecker on the school building reported by joyce ath grade we have just got our HaH halloween oween decorations put up the elementary school is sending christmas present across the ocean to russia china and england because they cannot have a christmas this year reported by trudy ann adams and jimmy hyatt tuesday morning we were very royally entertained by the capps family there were five members altogether and they played such instruments st as the bull fiddle banjo guitar violin and even an old wash tub they sang many beautiful cowboy songs and everyone enjoyed this program very much halloween is not far off so we are decorating our room with pictures of pumpkins gobbling gobb lins and witches reported by the ath grode |
