Show 0 AN unfavorable SPRING seldom if ever haven we had such an unfavorable spring in this valley as this one has turned out to be dry weather freezing nights and continued cold winds which wo we have had this spring make crop prospects in parowan carowan and paragonah Para gonah look very dark the month of april and may when we usually have some good storms were excel exceptionally tio nally dry this year with no storms of any consequence march much better then the cold windy period sin sino e april prevented us from having but a few days of high water center creek dropped to an almost all time low a week ago until it was auga augmented anted by water from the yankee reservoir killing frosts have hit the tha lower valley on numerous nights during may and up until monday night of this week in june the I 1 arst crop alfalfa is being clipped to make room for a second crop and some of it high enough to gather and in the fields there will not be enough water to bring much second cutting other crops have been h held eld back by the dry cold weather accompanied Compa nied b by y almost continued winds which have sapped what moisture there was out of the soil we are now heading into what is is usually our driest month of the year and it behooves us all to take care of all available irrigation water and put it to the best use P possible ossi ble in order to save the remaining crops what is raised will probably be worth a lot more to us than the same amount in good years |
