Show GARFIELD SEVIER COUNTY FARMERS TO GROW PEAS that two other counties in southern utah are going into the pea growing business on an extensive basis was learned from our exchanges during the week garfield and sevier county farmers have tentatively signed up to grow large acre ageg along with that of 0 iron county farmers according to the garfield county news of 0 panguitch approximately a acres have been signed up in the vicinity of 0 panguitch this is a much larger acreage than was grown there last year when the venture first started the richfield Richtie ld reaper states that farmers of that county are planning on planting between and acres it if it can be arranged most alost of these will be grown in salina with scattered reaching from sevier to redmond farmers there and at panguitch will probably grow peas tor for the rose valley produce co represented by thomas T and A F rose the latter of whom will operate tit in this valley again about acres will be grown tor for this same company by farmers of cedar valley it was announced recently acres of pod peas will be grown lit in this valley mostly for the pacific produce company although the amount grown here by A F rose will probably b be a handled by tile the rose valley company this makes a total of 1600 acres to be grown in these three counties this season we have bave not learned as yet whether farmers in milford valley are going into this industry this year that is where the industry started in southern utah several years ago pioneered by the san diego fruit arld and produce co |
