Show MANY TREES BEING ORDERED THIS orders for or approximately forest trees have been received prior to february 15 by the school of forestry at the utah state agricultural college at logan according to paul M dunn extension forester forestal requests for the trees are considerably in advance of previous years which would indicate an unusual intes rest in planting tor for this thia coming season said mr dunn tile the orders have been received from only eight counties ot of the state and so tar far salt lake county Is far in the lead with box elder second and uintah third the tree that Is most in demand is the siberian elm with more than 2800 being ordered blue spruce is secona coite and black locust third other species that are in demand are honey locust russian Itus olive siberian pea tree ponderosa pine green ash catalpa black walnut and golden willow I 1 tho the trees have been ordered by the farmers of the scale acate for plant ing this spring in farm windbreaks and woodlots wood lots and will be supplied from the forest tree nursery maintained by the state agricultural college in cooperation with the federal government tor for the purpose or supplying planting stock at a low cost the prices of the stock which include the cost of digging bundling and shipping vary from to per trees orders will not be ba accepted for less leas than 25 trees of any one kind and it if less than trees are desired the price will be for or each 25 it if the winter season Is normal the shipment of 0 the trees will commence about april 1 said mr air dunn and as the requests are hied filled in the order of their arrival in the office it is suggested that persons desiring ng trees this spring should place their orders as early as possible I 1 furthers Fur thern information may be ba obtained from the local county extension sion agent or by writing to the 17 exten on lon service at li in |
