Show PLANS FOR BIRTHDAY celebration NEARING completion FINE JOB BEING DONE ON SCHOOL GROUNDS A mighty fine job of 0 ground and community has been under way at the school grounds this week where through the public ic spiritedness ot of many local people mounds ot of gravel and rock have been leveled down and hauled off and new soil boll has been hauled in preparatory to the planting of lawns and shrubs were the work to stop now a wonderful improvement has been wrought in the appearance of the grounds besides the leveling etc several dead or unsightly trees have been removed and altogether the grounds present a much more pleasing appearance when they are planted the effect will be much greater bishop H L adams has been our one of the boosters boasters bo for this improvident and james C robinson of the school board has had actual supervision many of the good citizens of the community have donated their labor and that of their teams and outfits tor for three or four days As smatter of fact it is our understanding that all the work has been gratis A fund of donated by the salaried people of the community toward the cause is being resi tved for buying trees and shrubs PT plans for or Pa rowans big ce lebra tion ion next monday alunday ot of birthday are practically complete ac cording to information given out today by A B matheson chairman of 0 the he committee in charge cli arge As announced last week the days daya program commences with a meeting ng at 11 a m in the school audi corium iori uni it Is under the direction 0 of the he american legion and attorney scott it matheson atheson Al is ia to be the ora tor or of 0 the occasion at the close of the meeting the relief relict society will be on hand to serve lunches at a very nominal cost with special rates for families at there Is to be some boxing under the direction of the gun rod club and an indoor baseball game for or which the legion challenges all comers no charge Is to be made for these afternoon sports the celebration will end sometime before dawn the next morning when two orchestras have satisfied all the dancers both modern and old time for the old time dances ray stones and his orchestra have been procured and the moderns wll wil shuttle shuffle to the strains of dobs dance band the proceeds from the sale of lunches and from the dance will go to help repair the public library building a cause to which all can gladly contribute the committees in charge of the celebration are as follows general committee A B matheson file fae N benson behson ray D garner and albert E adams adama program committe comm ltee itee W clair rowley and A C hatch decorating co the BI blen and gleaner girls of both wards afternoon amusements mu gun and rod club lunches relief society |
