Show UTAH FARM ANNUAL governor george gcorge 11 dorn will tell of the possibilities for or the advancement ot of agriculture in utah at the annual convention of the utah state farm bureau and its affiliated cooperatives co operatives era tives to be held at the newhouse so hotel january to according to an announcement made hy by at S winder secretary of tho the farm bureau among some of 0 the other prominent speakers to address the convention will bo be dr george thomas president ot of the university of utah D W aupperle Aupper lc president of 0 the colorado potato growers association harden bennion Een nion state commissioner Commis ioner ot of agriculture protessor professor levi edgar young ot of the university of utah ephraim bergeson Ee reeson president of 0 the utah state farm bureau and others many abany of the problems ot of the tanners farmers including taxation marketing ot of crops weed control tanners farmers investments and other mutters matters will be taken up at the various sessions ot of the con bention ven tion each ot of the rix cooperative marketing associations will have com compone charge of one ot of the sessions tae home and community section on ot of the farm bureau which Is conducted under the direction of 0 the women will have a prominent part in the program the election of 0 officers ot of the farm bureau will be held during the afternoon ot of the opening day of 0 the convention ven tion several of the cooperative marketing organizations will also elect their officers for or 1926 one ot of th the a largest crowds ever attending a convention ot of the farm bureau is expected from the present indications there will be more than 2000 persons present this will be a per cent increase over the convention ot of last year the reasons toi fol the large increase which Is expected Is said to be due to the activities and accomplishments of the cooperative associations more afore than worth ot of farm products handled by the various cooperative associations during 1925 better prices was received by the farmers through this means it is said one of the outstanding ng rig features tea tureA ot of the convention which no doubt will attract considerable attention will be the display ot of the utah seed exhibit which won thirteen out ot of the ohp fifteen prizes prins in the alfalfa seed division of the international hay grain and seed show held at chicago in december utah was given the credit ot of raising the best alfalfa in the united states at the show dr george stewart of the utah agriculture college and E E smith the two men dien who had charge ot of the exhibit will be on hand |
