Show mw CAROLINE mm MATHESON PASSES AWAY mrs caroline matheson who died saturday morning at her bl er home borne in beaver as a result of a short illness with kidney trouble was laid t to 0 rest in mountain view cerne cemetery tery monday afternoon the services were held beld in the stake tabernacle with thomas gunn of the west ward in charge t music was furnished by a male quartet quai tet under tinder the direction of oi prof will T morris gus fernley Fer tiley sang san g pace face to face the invocation was offered byj by J T tanner and the closing pra prayer ver by 0 A murdock dr J F mcgregor J F toltan and bishop george of the west ward were the speakers and paid beautiful tribute to the reverence of and ail praised the high character of mrs matheson 4 the floral offerings were beautiful the service star legion leg ion attended in a body the pall bearers wei e her sons james robert and orson abe murdock murdoch jr milton gentry and nels jenson the grave was dedicated by T W gunn caroline small matheson casborn was born in Aberdeen shire scotland in the year yearl 1858 her parents were james and jane small when she was a small child her parents moved to where her father was I 1 employed emp oyed as chief landscape gardner on a large estate litre here her mother died and she was taken care of by her grandmother they moved from here to Cars owrie to another large estate when she was 12 years old they moved to dundee and at the age of 16 she became acquainted quain ted with the latter day dav saint and joined that church and was a staunch member until her death she was very verv kind and considerate of the L D S mission missionaries iries which those living livick can testify to in 1876 she was married to robt A B matheson of dundee in tl ti e city of edinburgh after living biere t nere four years vears they returned to 10 dandee in 1880 and in the atar 1882 immigrated to utah located at parowan carowan Pa rowan and moved to beaver in 1890 where she spent the remainder of her days she was the mother of eight children two of them daniel a baby died ill iii infancy in scotland and andrew mcfarland McF arUnd died here in beaver at the age of 17 she is survived by her husband 4 sons orson P robert A B jr james S and donald and two daughters mrs jane hickman and mrs airs caroline ebbie hales seven grandchildren grand children and a host of living liking relatives and friends to mourn her ber loss beaver city press |
