Show CITY COUNCIL HOLDS LAST BUSINESS SESSION what is probably the last business session of the present city administration was held in the I 1 li library arary auditorium last night with the mayor and all members of the council except councilman burton present after the preliminaries including the roll call arid and reading of the minutes the petition of joseph R bentley on behalf of the last local fair committee for an I 1 tion of 25 to pay off some labor accounts incurred in repairing and improving impi oving the race course and fair grounds was considered arid and an appropriation made the matter of leasing the cites portion of the land inside the race track to win pritchard who holds the balance of the track in trust for the ahr owners with power to sublease sub lease it was considered and the lease was made for two years from october 1 1 42 1 reserving to parowan carowan city the right to use any or all of the land so leased at any time they desired for baseball grounds or other thing of that nature without liability for damage to crops which may be planted there or otherwise it is understood that the land involved will be sub slab leased to sir mr martin gaid who is emp employed loved to guard and care for the property at the track the matter of granting permission ton to remove or trim the large cottonwood cotton wood tree across tha 02 street west from J 11 wards residence was referred to the streets and sidewalks committee with instructions to investigate and act according to their best judgment the water works committee reported that the storage tank for the water system had bad been repaired in good condition and the water is again in it the electric light supervisor reported that the meter chich was purchased by a former council for measuring the electricity used by paragonah Para gonah had been taken to the plant and found to tobe be in working condition upon motion of the council he was instructed to install the meter on the paragonah Para gonah line and to keep a check on the amount of electricity used by them for a week as a basis for arriving at an equitable rate at which electricity can be sold to them wholesale of minor importance were disposed of claims were allowed and after expressions of appreciations and satisfaction by those who were present for the privilege ot of 1 working with each other during the last two 3 ears and for the harmony which has characterized the efforts of the administration the meeting adjourned the present officials will meet lr fr a few moments on tuesday january 3rd ard about eleven to sui sm render their offices to their successors |
