Show commission HOLDS REGULAR FOLLOWING COPY OF CLERKS CLERK S MINUTES INDICATE transaction OF IMPORTANT BUSINESS REFUSE TO DESIGNATE ROAD board of county commissioners metin met in regular adjourned session november 1921 at 10 A iti in the court room of the county court house at parowan carowan Pa rowan utah there were present of the corr missioners ners H L adams chairman geo B williams H W cuili hillman dalley assessor geo H lunt county attorney J T leigh county sheriff and D claude urie county road supervisor sleeting meeting was called to order by the chairman chai and the following business bu si was transacted the matter of signing the contract with the federal government and the state on the reconstruction work on the cedar long valley road was discussed at some length the bond of cedar city citizens given to the county wherein the county is re leiven from any expense on the reconstruction of the above road was accepted and filed the contract upon motion of H W lunt was signed by the commission Com misson and the same sent fo the forest service for their signature sign iture as well as the signi tures of the state road commission the petition of citizens of paro faro wan wall asking the commissioners to designate the road between the parowan carowan gap and the beaver county line was considered by the board the clerk was instructed to write the commissioners of beaver county that the petition was not granted on account of the shortage of funds in the county and for the further reason that it parallels the cedarlund road for some distance in getting to the rail road A communication from the citizens of hamlin valley was read relative to the fencing up of the country in the valley along the section lines was presented to the commissioners after due consideration of the matter the same was referred to the county attorney and the county road supervision for further investigation after having submitted the question of the extra charge for preparing plans and specifications for the county hospital to the county attorney for an opinion it was moved and carried that the county pay the bill upon due showing it was moved and passed that an appropriation of 2063 be made to the boughen family indigents indi gents to cover their 1921 taxes it was also moved that H if hendrickson and caroline be given an allowance from the indigent fund of sloko 1000 per month it was moved that the co opera tive agreement be signed relative to the furnishing of funds to cover the countes Coun tys portion of completing the cedar long valley road to midway passed there being but the one bid for the publication of the delinquent tax list of iron county the contract was given to the iron county record with the understanding that each delinquent will be furni furnished shod with a copy of the issue containing said list and that it be printed in 8 point type upon motion of the county assessor and the clerk an appropriation of 1000 1000 for myra green 10 for beatrice hunter LO 10 for zilpha urie and 10 tor for the groves family famili was made from the indigent fund to the county the chairman and the county road supervisor were instructed to meet with the iron county construction company for the purpose of adjusting the matter of rent on county property used in the construction of the cedarlund cedar lund road and to consider the matter of them leaving the gravel pits for the the use of the county in the up keep of the roads the county road supervisor was vas instructed to purchase some road drags for the proper up keep of tl ta e county roads the treasurer reported that his office is to small for his work the clerk and the chairman were authorized to fix up the room now occupied bp attorney H C parcells and the room called the attorneys room for his work and the room now occupied by the treasurer to be repaired and made into a consulting and rest room for the public the matter of collecting all personal property tax for the year 1920 that has not been paid was vas referred to the county attorney and the sheriff the clerk was instructed to prepare a list of the same for their convenience in maing ma ing the collection kills bills were then allowe I 1 and the meeting adjourned until dec 12 |
