F told councilmen this week However interest alone would probably cost between and a year depending on actual cost of the land This is more than the city's capital fund runs right now I DONT DON'T think we should bind future councils so they cant can't do anything the mayor said And this money would not allow for development of the area It would cost per hole to develop a golf course There would be other values in the water storage but we dont don't know just what they might be at this time ITS IT'S A monumental project said Councilman Layne Forbes We would have to have more information on estimated cash flows etc before we could make a wise decision Perhaps this would amount to over emphasis on parks in the city even though this is a legitimate city function he said SPEAKING on the feas feasibility of the dam City Manager Grant P. P Petersen said the state geologist believes we would not be able to keep the water Seepage is great in the area and we probably would not be able to keep water in ina ina ina a reservoir SOME OF the area a group proposed to sell as a package to the city includes rather steep mountains Councilmen felt fell this area would not beof be beof beof of great value except for some possible winter sports Councilman Rod Shumway noted he is concerned about the right of future councils to make decisions But he said I am also concerned about residents today WE ARE faced with stringent stringent stringent gent times I just dont don't see how we can handle such a development development development de de- de- de at this time It would be nice but it isn't within our grasp at this time The council decided not to take any further action on the matter |
