Show Obituaries Walter Ray Fausett Walter Ray Fausett died Dec. 10 in Provo following a stroke and pneumonia. He was 77. He was born March 24, 1908, in Midway to John and Irene Burgener Fausett. He married Florence Emma Carroll June 12, 1929, in Midway. The marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was brought up in Park City and Midway, and during the early years of his marriage, he worked in Park City's mines. Later he moved to Ruth, Nev., where he was employed by Kennecott Copper as a plumber and welder. After he retired, he moved to Pleasant Grove. He was a member of the LDS Church and, when he lived in Nevada, he served serv-ed in the Bishopric of the Ruth Ward. "For over 50 years, friendships (with him) made here in Park City have been carried on, even though many (friends) had moved away," said unofficial unof-ficial Park City historian Bea Kummer. Matias Alvarez Park City resident Matias "Matt" Alvarez died Dec. 15. He was 92. He was born March 14, 1894, in Boada, Salamanca, Spain. He moved to the United States in 1919 and lived in Oak Creek, Colo., until 1956. There he was a usinessjnn, a member of the Elks Club and a civic leader who was involved wftn "county affairs. ' , He moved to Boulder, Colo., where he worked for the University of Colorado. Col-orado. After his retirement in 1966, he continued his civic service by helping schoolchildren as a street crossing guard. He moved to Park City with his wife in 1978. He was a member of St. Mary's . Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years (Park City) ; sons, Matt Jr., Pete (both Park City) and John (Washington D.C.); grandchildren, Kristine, Katrina, John Michael and Karl Matthew (Washington D.C.), Marko and Matias (Park City ), and Denise and Joseph ( South Carolina ) . He was preceded in death by his son, Domingo. He was buried in Park City Cemetery. |
