C came to Utah with his parents when he was four i 1 Y years ears old They lived in in Salt Lake City for a time before I moving to Ogden where he heI I received his elementary and andI I I secondary education His post high school education education I tion was done dune at receiving reI receiving re- re a bachelor of science I degree Later he achieved his master of science degree at the University of Idaho and has been awarded the Doctor of Education degree from the University of Utah during the thelast thelast thelast last year THE TIlE educational experiences experiences ces of Dr Evans have been many and varied He was a teacher in the Malad Ida elementary and junior high schools for three years and later he was a teacher and g guidance e directorial or t Moab high school in Grand County for two years He obtained a position with Central junior high in Ogden as a teacher He later served served served ed as principal of the Dee and Polk schools in the Ogden City district HE RESIGNED the Polk School to become associated with the Brigham Young University His position with BYU was that of associate associate associate ate professor and assistant chairman of the department of Elementary Education I He left BYU when he was appointed Assistant I I i of Schools for Ogden City School District a position he held for ten years before going to work for the JOHN C. C U married Mildred Hanni of Sugar City Ida in 1940 They have three children Richard teaching his fourth year at Churchill Junior High School in Granite district Kathy a junior at Bountiful high school and David a ninth grader at South Davis junior high school Mildred also teaches third grade at the Boulton Elementary School hool in addition to fulfilling her duties as mother and home- home maker Devoted to his profession Dr Evans uses his drive and enthusiasm enthusiasm enthusiasm en en- in dedication to his fellow educators in Church civic professional and of his precious little spare time AS A convert to the LD'S church he has served as elder quorum pr president Sunday School superintendent first counselor to the Bishop Presently Presently Presently Pres Pres- he is a teacher of gospel doctrine in the Bountiful Ward and has served in this position for seven years He has been a Rotarian in Provo and Ogden and aLion a aLion aLion Lion in Salt Lake City for the past six years He is presently present present- ly serving on both the Murray and Salt Lake City chamb chambers s of commerce An active member member member mem mem- ber on library and United Fund boards he has been a participant participant participant pant in the various communities ties where he has lived THE TIlE professional and fraternal frater frater- nal organizations in which Dr Evans has served in the presidencies presidencies presidencies have included the Idaho Elementary Principals' Principals Association the the Tau Field Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa and the Utah Council for UNESCO John C.
