Show Skiers Rate At Alta Snow Cup The 35th annual Snow Cup Ski Race, held at Alta this past weekend, saw Park City Ski Team members Roxanne Toly and Kerri Hays finish with mixed fortunes. Both women placed during the two day giant slalom race, competing against stiff competition. competi-tion. On Saturday, Roxanne finished with an impressive second place position. Her time was 84.38, slightly behind the winner, Carol Carter who had a time of 83.80. Unfortunately, Kerri Hays lost one of her poles through the gates and failed to place. The second day of the Snow Cup Race on Sunday saw almost the reverse happen. While Kerri came in third place, Roxanne had the misfortune of losing one of her poles. Kerri's time of 87.34 was not far behind that of Carol Carter, who finished Sunday at 87.04. Because of the warmer temperatures, temper-atures, the course for what was once one of the most prestigious ski races in the country proved to be fairly slow. When asked about the course, Roxanne replied. "It wasn't too difficult. It was kind of slow, really." After the final races on Sunday. Steve Bounous and Carol Carter came out the winners. Bounous managed to beat defending champion, Scott Hoffman from Ogdcn. |
