Show Park Cily Policeman Graduates from Peace Officers' School Mr. Ralph H. Jones, Director, Direc-tor, Utah Peace Officer Standards Stan-dards and Training, announced today 28 law enforcement officers of-ficers graduated in special ceremonies at the Utah Law Enforcement En-forcement Academy, Salt Lake City, on Tuesday, June 20. Mayor Vaughn Soffe of Murray City, addressed the graduates. Justice J. Allan Crockett, Utah State Supreme Court, outlined and administered to the graduates grad-uates the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics. Among the graduates is Larry Henley of the Park City Police Department. The graduating class represented rep-resented the twenty -seventh group of peace officers in the State, numbering over 800, who have graduated from the Utah Law Enforcement Academy and are certified as peace officers in the State since passage of the Peace Officer Minimum Standards Law by the Legislature Legis-lature and signed by Governor Calvin L. Rampton in March, 1967. The graduating class completed com-pleted a seven-week Law Enforcement En-forcement Academy Curriculum. Curric-ulum. The curriculum included extensive training in all phases of criminal investigation, including in-cluding drugs and narcotics, traffic accident investigation techniques, advanced first aid, police efficiency vehicle driving, driv-ing, firearms training, as well as techniques in the handling of bombs and explosives. Mr. Jones stated that Sheriff Rex Huntsman, President of the Utah Peace Officers Association was present to award a special plaque to the most outstanding officer in the graduating class. |
