Show AN t iNI INTERESTING COMPARISON With so many families in this community paying a straight tenth of the total income to the church there might be unusual interest in a comparison of chur church h support support SUpport sup sup- port as detailed in a recent issue of Changing Times Tines the Kiplinger Magazine The overwhelming majority of giving is on a 1 week weck basis the magazine says But many occasional attend attend- ers contribute as little as 2 a year for the support of the church to which they are anxious to come on Christmas and Easter We heard of an unusual suggestion on in line with a recent drive for the heat and light funds NOT funds NOT in a local church church- Half the people always pay all the bills some someone someone someone one commented Why dont don't we build a partition down the middle of the church and leave one one one- half dark and cold Something there maybe Of or the ten Protestant churches receiving the greatest total contributions Presbyterians US U.S. gave the most an nn average of per member a year Lutherans of the Missouri Synod were next were and Pr Presbyterians USA U.S.A. third with an average member contribution of The other seven Congregational Christian Protestant Episcopal Lutheran United Baptist American Convention Baptist Sout Southern Souther em Convention Methodist and Disciples of Christ The magazine docs does not list any other churches |
