Show FROM OLD RECORD FILES w 75 YEARS AGO Saturday Sept 3 From the Territorial News John Creamer made an un unsuccessful unsuccessful unsuccessful un- un successful attempt to kill Jerry Richardson a son of Jerry Richardson the Crescent lessee of Park City at Salt Lake on the evening of the of August in front of the Walker House The shooting is the sequel to a scandal that stirred up Salt Lake five years ago At that time Ella Creamer the daughter of the man who did the shooting came to Salt Lake an innocent girl from a mining camp in Idaho to attend St. St Marys Mary's Academy She soon became acquainted with a crowd of young sports of wh whom 0 m Richardson was a member It was soon discovered that she was about to become a mother and Richardson and another person or two took her herin herin herin in s a hack to a house in the Tenth Ward She caught cold on the journey journey journey jour jour- ney in the hack was confined shortly after and died The affair leaked out an inquest was held and a terrible scandal scandal scandal scan scan- dal was the result The child died and the mother and child were buried together Richardson Richard Richard- son skipped but was caught and brought back and acquitted of the charge Creamer arrived in Salt Lake from Arizona on the and met Richardson and accused him of killing his daughter Some hot words passed between the two when Creamer armed himself and started out to kill Richardson Only one bullet took effect making a bad flesh wound in his right hip Creamer was held in the sum of to await the action of the grand jury On and after Aug August Aught t 1892 the Ontario and Daly mines at Park City Utah will be closed to visitors except on Wednesdays Wednesdays Wednesdays Wednes Wednes- days of each week between the hours of 1 and 5 pm p.m. No visitors will be taken underground at any other time and then only on presentation of cards of admission admission- which can be obtained at the office of the company No meals will be served to visitors at the boarding houses of the company The management has been forced to this action as the entertainment of visitors has become a serious hindrance and expense in operating the mines R. A B. B Emery and daughter Mrs M. M B. B and grandson who occupied a carriage and the Misses Nellie Bransford Ella Berlin Mr W. W G.
