The great Orpheum circuit is sparing spar-ing no expense to give Ogden the host of Its attractions, us ha3 been prown by the class of shows presented during dur-ing the present season. The new I 1 1 1 for the coming week will further prove Mr. Martin fleck's great resources re-sources in picking good things. The hr-adliner of the bill will bi- Mr. .1. C. Nugent, thf well Known comedian, assisted as-sisted by Miss Julo Yorke, who present pre-sent a very original sketch, of which Mr. Nugent is the author, entitled "The Siiuuror." The manner In which Mr. Nugent succeeds in squaring matters mat-ters with hla friend's wife, when that friend, believed to bo in church, Is reposing in a hotel, cnd"aorlng to recover re-cover from the effects of too much Imbibing, is the cause of the hilarity. "The Squarer," impersonating a bibulous bibu-lous gentleman, has a lecid dly unique way of getting his fun over the footlights, and the audience Is sure to appreciate the funny situations and the clever performers. Edward Flanagan and Neely Ed wards give a new version of stage life, "On and Off." In this day of most comedy acts, Flanagan and Kd-wards' Kd-wards' presentation of the quarrel and subsequent reconciliation of two black-face commtdians Is a classic. The two have a vaudeville gem that will shine resplendent for many years to come To bring in a tear in the middle of a comedy is something to be accomplished only by two clecr people. Flanagan and Edwards do this, and they check the tear with a laugh before the audience has "a chance to get away from a merry mood. Stepp, Mehlinger and King are three young fellows who present a most enjoyable singing and instrumental instru-mental acL Mehlinger Is the soloist of the trio, and ha.s a wonderful personality per-sonality about him which keeps the eyes of the audience focused on him from tho time he appears until the llnal curtain. He knows how to sing his songs to the best advantage, and the assistance rendered him by his teammates, one playing a banjo and the other a piano, materially adds to the smoothness of the entire, number Stepp plays the "'Rosary" on the banjo, being accompanied by King on the piano. The boys finish their act with an operatic travesty which Is cleverly presented. Mr. Fred Duproz is a clever entertainer, enter-tainer, who lias been featured in several sev-eral New York musical comedies. He gives a varied monologue with a few songs that are new anil bright, lie has a stlc quite his own, and his offering of-fering Is most appealing. A comedy dancing act is presented present-ed by the Harvey-Do Vora trio. Miss De Vora Is known as an eccentric too dancer of unusual ability, and she Is bound to please with her personality and charming manner. Dert Harvey Is the originator of all the comedy steps used In this act. which are said to be extremely grotesque and humorous. hu-morous. ' Little John Dough." the third member of the trio, formerly with the "Ginger llread Man." Is the smallest comedian now appearing on the vaudeville stage. Though a dwarf In size, he Is a gifted comedian, as the closing number, the well known Yarna Yama dance of the "Three Twins" is Introduced Luce and Luce give a musical act which is a treat to every lover of the art. Their act Is beautifully costumed cos-tumed throughout, and their comedy is choice and refreshing, which with scenic effects brings forth rounds of applause. A new orchestra program and new novelties in motion pictures will com plete a most enjoyable bill.' |
