Ranesden was presented with an elegant gold watch, j chain and charm by the members as a ' token of confidence anG esteem The presentation speech was made ! by Vice President John Maddock, who gavo an outline sketch of union work from th3 beginning of organized endeavor en-deavor down to the present time. Mr. Rmesden, who has been a faithful faith-ful worker for the union since Its organization in 1905, having served as secretary for several years before being elected to the presidency, was greatly surprised by the gift and expressed ex-pressed his pleasure and appreciation apprecia-tion in a few well chosen remarks i relative to his interest in the common cnue and his constant willingness i to lend a helping hand whenever possible. pos-sible. Twelve applicants for membership I in the association were received, two of which were accepted. The applicants appli-cants who were denied membership for tho present have no hen employed em-ployed local! v a sufficient length of time to qualify with the association's regulations.
