Earling. president of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul railroad, and party arrived in Seattle yesterday after af-ter an inspection trip over the line of the Chicago. Milwaukee ft Puget Sound. Commenting upon crop conditions, Mr. Earling slid- "Crop conditions in eastern Washington Wash-ington are very good; In Montana, excellent; In North Dakota, South Dakota Da-kota and Minnesota, crops sufTered from the droughL Estimates obtained from tho moft reliable sources place the yield of North Dakota at not to exceed -n per cent of an averago crop; in Minnesota and South Dako-la Dako-la about 7o per cent of an averago yield. "Notwithstanding tho partial crop failure in the Dakotas and Minnesota, business conditions continue to be fairly good " |
