Show GIRL MAKES A SERIOUS CHARGE ' Tho case of the State against Albert Al-bert Thomas, under the charge of assault as-sault and battery upon Helolse Ttum-ney, Ttum-ney, was called, and. upon motion of the attorney for the defendant, the case was ordered transferred to the court of R. T. Reese, justice of the peace of Plea-sant View, for trial. The ground for the change cf venue, as stated in the defendant's affidavit, was bias and prejudice on the part of Judge Murphy. The complaint nllegcn that Thomas, on August 0. assaulted Miss Helolse Rumney, by striking her with his fists, which caused her to fall from ft buggy in which the defendant and the young woman were riding in Og-dlcn Og-dlcn canyon When Thomas wns arrested he was placed '.lutlcr a bond cf $1 00 for his appearance In court this morning. This bond was furnished in cash. Judge Murphy, this morning, however, ordered that th defendant furnish a bond in tho sum of $250. Thomas stated that he would furnish ihe bond In cosh or secure bondsmen Thomas, a short time a?o, was fined $73 by Judge Murphy for furnishing cigarettes to boys of tho State Industrial In-dustrial school. It was reported at the sheriff's of ficc that the girl In question made her appearance late Monday night at the home of Anton Van Benthum. who resides at Jackson avenue and Sullivan avenue, hntless and on the erge of nervous collapse, as a result, she said, of her experience with the man mentioned.
