Show UMPIRES ARE SAID TO BE INCOMPETENT St. Iouls. Aug. 27 President Stan-ley Stan-ley Robison of the St. Louis Nationals, Nation-als, plans to have some action taken against several members of the National Na-tional league staff of umpires ot the annual meeting of the magnates this winter. "The umpiring in the National league this season bos been the worst In years." said President Robinson here yesterday. "In protesting the work of the indicator handlers, I do not mean that we are always getting the worst of the decisions. There Is no question but that the Cardinals have suffered as much. If not more, than any other team In the league, and I am not the only club owner who has a complaint. "The poor work of (he umpires Is going on all over the country. There Is not a city In the circuit that has not pome protest over the work of the men who are hired to Judge games fairly. I-barrtly helleve there Is any favoritism shown: the um-idrcs um-idrcs are pimply Incompetent." |
