Show OLD SHEBA MINE TO BE REOPENED Produced Nearl $7,000,000 In the Early Days by Crude Methods. The old Sbe-ba property in Humboldt county Is again being worked. This good news Is brought to Reno by Mr. Southworth, a graduate of the University of Nevada school of mines, who is employed by the company as engineer. ire says that the property, which produced upwards of $7,000,000 in tho early days, when processes wcro crudo and transportation was difficult diffi-cult and expensive, now promises to even exceJ Its former record, for the metes nnd bounds of the ore bodies have never been determined. There is an enormous pile of tailings tail-ings there, which promise to yield good returns if scientifically treated, whilo the virgin ground in all directions direc-tions offers encouragement for development de-velopment work. Mr, Southworth lias been In the district for somo time and Is thoroughly thor-oughly familiar with the Chafoy formations. He has a chunk of ore that Is almost a nugget which was picked up on the surface and the source of gold never found, although the roughness of the specimen testifies testi-fies to the fact that it had Dot traveled far.
