The cave-in of the building j was due to the cellar excavations be- j ing made on the adjoining lot for the J erection of a building bv C. J. Hum-1 phris. ' I The barber shop is owned by Thieios Dosoknlos, who at the time of the collapse was engaged in lathering lath-ering the face of a customer. A second sec-ond barber was also at work on a patron's pa-tron's face. The floor dropped and the wall fell out with almost no warning warn-ing and the occupants rushed to the street, thinking that an earthquake was in progress. One of the customers who was half shaved, went to another shop to have the work completed. ; As most of the wall fell outward none of tho occupants of the building was injured. The - building is almost a complete wreck and the proprietor of the shop moved his barberlng equip ments upon the street, fearing that " the entire structure was about to topple. j The loom west of th? barber shop, occupied by R. S. Brooks & Son. livestock live-stock dealers, was also damaged by the falling of the wall and this firm moved its fixtures from the building this morning. |
