Show Death and Funeral of ) Dr. Joseph Marriott . Dr. Joseph Marriott, father of Joseph Marriott, Jr., a promi-' promi-' - - nent figure . in Bingham for .a - number of years, died -at a Salt . Lake hospital on Monday last. Dr. Marriott was born in Not- tinghamshire, England, April 4, 1838 and emigrated to this coun- 1 try in 1861. His wife died in 1873 and he settled on a home-' home-' stead one mile east of Sandy . where he began the study ot medicine and successfully passed pass-ed and became a charter member mem-ber of the Utah Pharmaceutical ' - Association and in 1894 received ,his certificate to piactice medi-- medi-- cine. Dr. Marriott had a number of . , friends and admirers in Bingham Bing-ham and at one time was a musician mu-sician of considerable ability his favorite instrument being the violin. . Funeral services were held on Thursday from the Re-organized . Church of Latter-day Saints at . . Salt Lake City with a large num-ber num-ber of friends from Bingham attending. at-tending. Dr. Marriott made a special request before his death that no flowers be sent to his funeral, which matter , was strictly, observed. ob-served. .
