Show DEATH OF WILLIAMS RESULT OF POISON Man Who Twice Attempted to Take-His Take-His Own Life Finally Passes Away. Salt Lake, March 16. John Shelton Williams, former engineer at the Auer-bach Auer-bach building, died at noon Monday from congestion of the lungs, superinduced superin-duced by a dose of strychnine, taken, it is said, with suicidal Intent at an early hour last Friday morning. The taking of tho fatal dose last Friday was the second attempt that Williams is said to have made upon his life within a comparatively brief period pe-riod of time. The first attempt was made upon the afternoon of February 21 in the basement of the Auerbach building, when Williams shot himself in the left 'breast with a revolver. His aim was poor, however, and instead of killing hlmsolf he only succeeded in inflicting a painful flesh wound from which he virtually recovered within a short time, after careful treatment at a hospital. |
