Racers were here fiom New Orleans, Atlanta, Chicago, ! Salt Lake and New York. I In the live-mile professional race, ever a minute and a quarter was cut ctf the previous record by De Rosier I of New York, who made the distance 1 in 4:09 2-5. The previous record was , 5:25. He made the rastest mile ever made on a motor, the watch getting him in the third mile in :47 2-5. J. Do Rosier of New York reduced the two-mile record from 2:U5 to 1:40; F. Iluyck of Chicago, the nve-miie amateur record from 4:38 to 4;ll'J-5; E: Lingenfelder, of Chicago, the tbree- : mile record from 3:013-5 to 2.28 -o, and Huyck of Chicago, tho three-mile amateur record from 2; 48 3-5 to '2:37 2-5.
