Show WILL GO BACK TO IOWA Charge of Embezzlement Embezzle-ment of $15,000Awaits Nichols There Kansas City, March 16. A charge or embezzlement of $15,000 awaits K. M. Nichols at Corydon, la., who was arrested ar-rested here last night by lowa otllcerd. Requisition papers have been honored by Governor Hadloy, and Nichols will be taken to Corydon tomorrow. R. G. Mullen, who was associated with Nichols at Corydon. was extardlled from New Mexico, and passed through j Kansas City last night, bound for j Iowa. Until three months ago, the two men. It is charged, had lived In Cory- 1 don. and represented themselves as agents for the Southwestern Smelting Smelt-ing & Refining company, an organization organiza-tion which was capitalized at $1, 000.000. After they had been in that city one year, and had sold $15,000 in stock, the company -which they repre- ' sented went into receiver's bands, It is claimed. Both men left Iowa and the grand jury indicted them. Nichols declares that he and Mullen Mul-len had been engaged in a legitimate business. For the last three months he has been an agent of the Amort-can-Mexican Land company. |
